Autumn trees reflected in breeze-ruffled pond, Allegany State Park, New York

I stopped at this pond, in Allegany State Park, western New York, to try to get a perfect mirror image of autumn trees.  Thankfully, the wind did not comply.  The shimmering surface moved fine details of the trees this way and that to blend the scene into broad brush strokes of light, leaving just a hint of forest identity intact.  On the journey to perfection, sometimes the stops along the way are more interesting than the destination.
