Thistle seed caught in dew-covered spider web. Clark County, Kentucky

During the night, a Black-and-yellow Argiope spider builds her web.  Once finished, she settles into her favorite spot, at the center of the web, and waits, motionless, for her prey.  A gentle puff of wind dislodges a nearby thistle seed and blows it into the spider’s web.  She felt the slight vibration in the web but quickly ruled out a possible meal.  She waits.  The wind dies.  Dew forms.  Her next meal will now have to wait for the mid morning sun.  Meanwhile, a photographer enjoys a feast for the eyes.
